Shoe Pomade Cream or Shoe Polishing Wax? 

To distinguish the shoe polishes discussed herein: Burgol Shoe Pomade Cream is a mixed emulsion cream in a glass jar, whereas Burgol Shoe Polishing Wax is a hard wax cream or hard wax paste in a tin can.

Due to the higher proportion of hard waxes, its consistency is also firmer, similar to that of butter, taken straight from the refrigerator. Both, the Burgol Shoe Pomade Cream and the Burgol Shoe Polishing Wax have comparable basic ingredients. The proportion of oils, fats and softer waxes is higher in the Shoe Pomade Cream. In the Shoe Polishing Wax however, the hard wax of the carnauba palm and the balsam turpentine oil are the more important ingredients. Both products are compatible with each other.

Due to the higher proportion of oils, fats and beeswax, the Burgol Shoe Pomade Cream absorbs into the leather and ensures colour intensity, nourishment and care. The Shoe Polishing Wax has a more protective (impregnating) and cleaning effect due to its higher wax content and higher proportion of balsam turpentine oil and also provides a high shine.

How can I reach optimal care for my shoes? Ideally with both shoe care products, because a mixed emulsion cream like the Burgol Shoe Pomade Cream does not produce a high gloss and gives less protection, while the hard wax paste does not nourish the leather in depth. Therefore, both are necessary for optimal shoe care.
The Shoe Pomade Cream is applied first to a shoe, that has not been cared for, but has been cleaned. After a soaking time of approx. 10 minutes, the surface can be polished. Apply the Burgol Shoe Polishing Wax immediately afterwards, allow to dry and polish. After wearing, it is sufficient to polish the surface with a brush. If needed, use some more Shoe Polishing Wax.
